The history of American chocolates

We all have fond memories of eating sweets of our childhood, but believe it or not, the candy bars have been around much longer than you would suspect – hundreds of years, indeed! You can date the humble chocolate bar in 1847 when Joseph Fry has discovered a method which the cocoa powder, sugar and cocoa can be mixed into a paste which could then be placed in a mold. Before this discovery, drinking chocolate was very popular in its current form, if the invention of the chocolate bar was a true revelation. Although this new form of chocolate was a new experience at the time, still being a product very different from the question we enjoy today.

It was in 1876 that real milk chocolate was invented in Swiss Daniel Peter. The work that led this discovery has been long and arduous, taking just over eight years. It took three years before they were joined by Henri Nestlé Nestlé form, which then enter Crunch chocolate bars in 1938.

Milk chocolate has at last was built in bulk Thanks to the efforts of Milton S Hershey had established a factory in Pennsylvania. Before that, chocolate was considered a luxury that is available only to wealthier members of society. This large-scale manufacturing has allowed the price of chocolate to be lowered, making it accessible to everyone. In 1900 the all time most popular Hershey Chocolate bar was introduced to the public. All the world had to wait until eight years later, when Hershey began producing a version of the bar with almonds in.

The popularity of candy bars of milk chocolate continuous increase to the point that many companies have begun to make their own candy bars. The foundation of the Company in March 1911 led to the introduction of Heath candy bar in 1914. Candy bars in the early 1900s were made by hundreds of methods and more for marketing most of those who were familiar with the deal as coal and the Milky Way that have been presented to the market in 1923. The famous Baby Ruth bar was presented the public in 1925 with Henry Oh, and candy bars Mr. Goodbar.

Since the 1930s appeared in the chocolate rises increase ever. This due in large part to create a Hershey chocolate bar marketed to the fighting forces. When those who fought in the First and Second World War came home, were hungry for chocolate that had been sent to meet him on the floor and as a result sales have skyrocketed. Chocolate's popularity has continued to increase from year to year to the extent that today it is estimated that 2.8 million pounds of chocolate are consumed each year in the United States alone. Recent studies suggest that chocolate may even be good for you so there is no sign of a slowdown in sales of chocolate anytime soon!
